Fitness Synergy

April 28, 2009

I love to workout. It is one of the purest forms of discipline. It is a true test about obedience and consistency. To me it’s not enough just to be physically fit and spiritually unhealthy. We are the most blessed creatures on earth. We have the ability to think, reason, act, react and make our own choices.

When the Lord let me rise up and beat diabetes, I knew then my purpose was much bigger than eating, sleeping and going to work. I thought that since I was going to church every Sunday and saying my prayers I was covered.

I would eat whatever I wanted because I worked out a couple of hours per day. I was doing the activity, talking a good talk but behind closed doors I was bingeing and purging. I was on a destructive cycle headed for disaster. I went to my doctor because I was experiencing blackouts, severe depression, and poor circulation. I was not physically fit nor was I spiritually fit.

Through kicking my negative behavior patterns and truly understanding the lord’s words. I was released from the disease of diabetes. I know that the I am supposed to be healthy spiritually, emotionally and physically.

The number one killer of women today is heart diseases. A disease that is a lifestyle disease. It is preventable and controllable. I know we can beat this man made problem. We have all the tools we need right now. We just have to take action. the right kind of action. Positive Actin creates positive results. Negative actions create negative results. Here are some suggestions to help you get started on your road to creating a healthy and fit body. You will have more energy, sleep better, enhance your immune system and feel better about slipping into one of those great new body shaping slacks that are out this fall.

I am not going to give you suggestions that you often read about in other magazines just to appease you. I am giving you real suggestions that will really help you dramatically improve your overall health in a short period of time.

There are three critical components of fitness:

1. Aerobic – for your heart -Cardiovascular Conditioning Exercises –

Brisk Walking – Treadmill indoors and outside as well

30 minutes 5 days per week. working up to 60 minutes over a six month period of time.

Jogging – moderate pace 30-45 minutes 4-5 days per week

Aerobic Classes – 3-4 times per week

Indoor Studio Cycling – the latest new rage in health clubs across the nation. It is an innovative way for people to take their workouts to a whole new level. Imagine a room filled with aerodynamic cycles. each participant has their own cycle that has variable tension adjustments. There is a trained instructor who leads you through a complete workout using visualized imagery.

2. Strength – for your Muscle health 2 days per week per muscle group

Weight training – Light weight training at home or in the gym. Be sure to include pushups, pull-ups and a variation of abdominal crunches

3. Flexibility – Improve your range of motion and joint health

Stretch classes, Yoga, Pilates, classes and videos are the best way to achieve flexibility. Look in your local paper for classes that can teach you the basics then you can do it at home on you own time. Although I think it is more time effective to go to a class or get a video program that offers, cardio, stretching and weights.

Do it now. Get out your daytimer and write down on your to do list: Your exercise choices, time of day, pack your clothes for the gym and put them in the back seat of your car. Put your gym shoes by the front door and get ready to get fit.

You must engage in Positive Prayer to experience Spiritual Fitness
You must engage in Positive Thinking to become Emotionally Fit
You must engage in Positive Physical Activity to become Physically Fit.
After all we deserve to be Wholly Fit. We are a child of God and he makes the most beautiful creatures in the world. The least we could do is take care of ourselves so that we are ready to do his work. When you feel good you do good.
