Power is in the Pursuit

April 14, 2009

It’s the second month of the new century and so far we have survived. All the hype about Y2K has died down and it seems as though it’s business as usual here in America. We have had no global catastrophes or alien invasions yet. Thank God we all came through with little to no complications with our electricity, food or fuel.

Personally, I would like to give a new meaning to the Acronym Y2K. I read it on a reader board when I was traveling along the freeway. It said;

I loved that translation so I am spreading it around the world on my letterhead and in my seminars.

Being kind is the perfect way to influence every thing you do and every person you interact with. Kindness is a fresh focus for us as a person, a people united, and as a nation. It will keep the millennium essence of newness, fresh, alive, blessed to be here as the chosen generation in these historical times.

What if no one reciprocates my kindness? If you look at your actions and your life like a donation and you will never be disappointed.

In the last century we were so rushed to acquire; more…bigger..better..faster..higher! We missed the gift in the journey. We forgot to laugh at our mistakes, We became so “what about our rights ?” focused that we lost sight of the “do what’s right” principle. We’ve successfully created poor health, high therapy bills, a bunch of stuff we can’t use, kids we don’t understand, and a phone that can become outdated by the time you read the end of this message.

When we are focus on acquiring, we are never full or satisfied. It’s never enough. We often don’t know when to stop. Our eyes are always on our competition trying to keep up with them. Sometimes we don’t even want what they have, yet we chase them anyway because of ego. We never have peace in acquisition.

We’ve developed great technology that was supposed to give us more time. But for some reason we still haven’t taken the time to; work out like we need to, prepare nutritious foods, finish that letter to your grandmother, finish your book or spend time with our families and friends, as we would like to.

It’s time for us to slow down, reevaluate our life, our priorities, our goals, your objectives, and most of all, our purpose. What are the three most important things we are here on this earth for? That’s where the majority of our energy needs to be directed.

We’ve gotten so consumed with acquiring that we haven’t enjoyed the pursuit our treasures. You know what yours are and I know what mine are. Acquiring our treasures is not where the power is, it’s in the pursuit.

Reach your goal for what you become, not for what you get!
– Jim Rohn

The power in your purpose is concealed in the pursuit. That’s where the learning is , learning is an inherent trait that feeds your soul. If you are not growing, you’re stagnant or going backward. No more. We are putting on the brakes, changing directions and now we are moving ahead with a new plan.

After today that’s going to change. I’m prophesying that We are going to become Y2K compliant. We are going to be kind and we are going to do what’s right. We are going to get into our hot pursuit mode and start getting into the journey with our eyes, ears and heart wide open. We are not going to miss a thing. We are going to laugh at ourselves because humor is nature’s medicine for stress, depression and anxiety.

Okay we’ve gotten our treasures and now it’s time to shift our energy on the process instead of the destination. I know this is so different from what you have been told. Times are changing and so are we. Periodically, we must stop and evaluate ourselves.

Based on the interviews, clients I am working with, the chats I have been doing and E-mails I get, it’s time for a “new thing”. It’s time to get off of ; self, accumulating, moving so fast, stockpiling and pack ratting your way through the precious days we’ve been granted and get on adding more life to our life add more joy, laughter, fun, engage in more special moments and to basically just be in the moment.

Simplify our lifestyles by getting rid of mental and physical clutter, get on a daily personal training workout plan that will give us more energy, better health and longevity so that we can live to enjoy our retirement. Oh yes, be kind. Be kind to yourself and others. Remember Y2K!

2. Live in the moment.
3. Slow down and simplify your life.
4. Make personal workouts a part of your daily life.

Have an awesome week!
